New Google Nest Speaker
A new Nest smart speaker was recently leaked via FCC photos. In response, Google is offering an official photo and even a video of the device.
The company reportedly sent a photo of the device to several media outlets, as well as a video, all to reveal the product and confirm that the Google Nest team is working “from home” on it. From the supplied press images, the new Google Nest speaker appears to be a rectangular smart speaker with rounded corners and a soft blue-gray texture and the dotted lights of the Google Assistant. And it can stand upright.
It has an overall design that fits perfectly with the Nest Mini and Google Home Max. It is speculated that this new Google Nest speaker is intended to replace the original Google Home, which is one of the older ones at the moment. Although it is still a sleek and minimalist speaker, it is a bit old. An update could come.
Perhaps this will be the last version of Google, and it will be a Nest Home. Maybe it will also cost around $130 or less. Alternatively, Google might want to place it between the first Home and the Home Max. Kind of like Amazon has the Echo Plus. It's more advanced than the last-gen Echo, but it's not exactly the Echo Studio with its intelligent high-fidelity “3D” sounds.
Google hasn't said anything else about the new Google Nest speaker, other than confirming that it's real. If we had to theorize about when it might debut, maybe at the company's annual hardware show in the fall? Nothing is certain. We contacted Google for comment and will report back if we receive more information.
